Office of Faculty Development

As we approach the end of the semester, we'd like to offer a few practical strategies to help manage workload and stress. You're also invited to use the Office of Faculty Development's drop-in space for grading, on your own or with colleagues. While you're there, please enjoy coffee, tea, and snacks.

 Grading Strategies that Save Time:

  • Work in focused blocks: 60-90 minute grading sessions tend to be more sustainable than long stretches.
  • Alternate tasks: Switching between grading and lighter tasks (e.g., emails) can reduce fatigue.
  • Triage workload: What needs to be completed now, what can wait, what can be streamlined or deferred.

Protecting Your Time and Energy:

  • Get outside: Taking a quick walk or simply moving can help manage stress
