WELCOME TO NURSING

CAL STATE EAST BAY NURSING The Department of Nursing offers both Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree programs.

The BSN program is designed to prepare a nurse generalist: one who can apply nursing knowledge and provide culturally sensitive care to clients from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds. The curriculum integrates general and professional education to prepare a professional nurse who is also a well-educated citizen. We offer Pre-Licensure and Post-Licensure concentrations.

The MSN program has a dual focus in nursing education leadership and administration, preparing nurses to function broadly at an advanced level across an array of nursing arenas. The Master's program provides a seamless pathway to a practice or research doctoral education for those intereted in a doctoral degree.

ACCREDITATION

The Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing at California State University at East Bay is approved by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing, 916-322-3350. Upon completion of the baccalaureate level nursing sequence, the student is qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and apply for the California Public Health Nursing Certificate.

The Master's Degree in Nursing and Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing at California State University at East Bay are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, D.C. 20001, 202-887-6791.

Baccalaureate Degree previously accredited by National League for Nursing from 1975 to 2011.
